The Wineries

Crossroads Winery New Zealand

Crossroads Winery is situated on Korokipo Road, Fernhill, in Hawke’s Bay. It is a boutique winery founded in 1990 and has rapidly established a reputation for producing elegant wines of high quality and consistency.

The winery is owned by Ager Sectus Company Ltd, a Wellington based company whose investments are dedicated to the New Zealand wine industry.

Hawke’s Bay is happily gaining a worldwide reputation for producing very fine wine and now premium Crossroads wines are being enjoyed in the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and the United States.

Ager Sectus’ commitment to develop and expand Crossroads has seen the winery upgraded to include a new barrel room, laboratory and office block. Land investment has also increased with the purchase of an additional 15 acre block behind our home vineyard in Fernhill.

Ager Sectus also has dedicated vineyards in the Gimblett Gravels area and 200 acres in Marlborough, where Sauvignon Blanc vines have been planted. The company selects premium fruit from its vineyards in Hawkes Bay and Marlborough for Crossroads Wines.

Crossroads is pleased to be part of the continuing success of the New Zealand wine industry. Key to the company’s future is the commitment and expertise of senior management and Ager Sectus is proud to have Noel Scanlan as Director overseeing all production and marketing for the winery, John van der Linden as Principal Viticulturist and Matthew Mitchell as Crossroads’ Winemaker. All have considerable experience in the industry with internationally recognized companies.

Crossroads is situated between Napier and Hastings on the sunny East Coast of New Zealand. The quality of its wines, the ambience of the winery and vineyards and the warmth of the welcome from the cellar door team make it a very attractive place to visit. Thorny Devil Australia

The Thorny Devil is a private label. The wines come from the Gundagai region which is located on the south-west slopes of New South Wales - an area beginning to emerge as the source of some of Australia's most interesting and exciting premium and super-premium wines. The Wirrilla vineyard produces super-premium grapes where we have taken the grapes/wine for the Thorny Devil. The bottling was done in the Upper Hunter Valley.

Mana - Marlborough New Zealand
